Leicester City Vs Chelsea – A Battle Between Foxes and Lions

The tables have turned in the Premier League so far this season, with Chelsea set to visit the king power stadium on Tuesday to play Leicester, with a hope to climb back up the top 4, while Leicester have their eyes set on the top spot with a win. It’s a battle between Foxes and Lions.

Match Preview

Leicester will seek to keep their 100% record in 2021 when they host Chelsea, with a win that will put them in the top spot of the English Premier League. The Foxes took the 2nd place away from Liverpool with a win against Southampton, while the reds struggled to a 0-0 draw against United on Sunday.

They are currently on a 5 games unbeaten streak while scoring 33 goals and conceding 21, the same amount of goals scored and conceded by Chelsea as well. Although for Chelsea it’s a different situation, as Lampard was given new players with the likes of Havertz and Werner, but still can’t make any real progress.

On the other hand, Brendan Rodgers deserves great credits for his work at Leicester, as they are above Chelsea in the table, one of the reasons why he is on Chelsea’s managers-shortlist to replace Lampard. In addition to Rodgers, Chelsea have Tuchel, Allegri, Hasenhรผttl and Nagelsmann on that list, something Frank Lampard should worry about as they are all great managers with a lot of success stories. The most serious candidate being Tuchel as he was sacked by PSG.

Chelsea’s Struggles

The Lions were able to secure a much needed 3 points last week, winning against 10 men Fulham 1-0 in a very unconvincing performance in which Mason Mount was the star of the show.

However, Lampard will take anything he can get as he is under a lot of pressure. We all know the expectations that Chelsea’s board have for him, especially with the arrival of so many new players. The Blues will feel like they might deserve a better manager as Lamps continues to struggle. But for how long will the players keep faith in him before they turn their backs like they did on Mourinho in 2015?

Match Prediction

The fans will feel like this should be the other way around, with Chelsea fighting for top spot. However, we should not take anything away from Leicester as they are doing what they do best and keep flying under the radar. For neutral football fanatics, this should be a match worth watching, as both sides have a point to prove.

We all know that Lampard is a born winner and will do anything to make a statement tomorrow. However, the foxes will be set and ready to return punches, in what would be an open entertaining match. Who will prevail? The way things are going, we have to give the advantage to Leicester, as we feel they will be strong enough to get the win and deepen Chelsea’s wounds.

Current Odds

  • Over 2.5 goals: 1.80
  • Both Team To Score: 1.61
