Atletico’s disciplined defense and stability can cause frustration to many teams, including Inter as we’ve seen in the early stage. Simeone’s side might not play the most attractive football out there but they sure know how to win matches and at the end of the day, that’s what counts! Domestically they did have some low performances, especially the most recent 3-0 loss against Barcelona. However, Los Colchoneros are more than capable of delivering results when it matters the most, especially with some brilliant individuals such as Depay and Griezmann leading the way.
Dortmund on the other hand is one of those teams that’s very inconsistent yet enjoyable to watch, especially with their explosive attacking prowess and the re-addition of Jadon Sancho. They’ve had some brilliant results that allowed them to top the group of death, beating Newcastle and Milan both away and putting on a defensive clinic against PSG at home. Can their individual brilliance and talent cause Atletico problems?

Cruising into the Quarter-finals after beating Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate, they face another Spanish team, one that is not very strange on Luis Enrique as a lot of reports suggesting he could be back at the club next season! The first leg at Parc des Princes will be crucial for them to “secure” a spot in the semis.
Inconsistency is Barcelona’s biggest opponent in recent years, something that they’ve had to deal with for a while now after all the drama that happened in the post Messi era. Regardless of that, they did their job and secured a place in the Quarter-finals after beating a decent Napoli side 4-2 on aggregate. Not to take anything away from their individual threat with players such as Lewandowski, Raphinha, Joรฃo Fรฉlix and the most exciting young talent at the moment Lamine Yamal, but can they hold on defensively and put in 2 solid performances to advance? Or will Mbappรฉ’s “Real Madrid audition” prove to be too much?
